The Vesper Bar at The Dorchester, London

In the British capital, interior designer Martin Brudnizki has refurbished the newly named Vesper Bar, formerly the Bar at Dorchester. Owing to the patronage of actors throughout its tenure, the establishment’s hotel and bar are imbued with historical significance. In particular, James Bond films have been associated with the hotel down through the years. Any mention of Vesper and James Bond, especially in connection with Casino Royale, will remind most people of the custom-made cocktail launched by the movie. In actual fact, The Vesper Bar was named after Bond author Ian Fleming, who created the Vesper Martini and was a regular guest at the hotel. For ninety-two years The Dorchester, located in the affluent Mayfair district, has been one of London’s most prestigious and refined hotels. Brudnizki has successfully preserved the historical style of elegance inspired by the spirit of the thirties, with the addition of some modern touches. The armchairs in the bar have been upholstered in the Mezzaluna jacquard fabric, whose small geometric motif arouses tactile sensations with its textural feel and catches the eye with its metallic reflections, while the transparent effect of the canvas Weave confers a natural look.
